Bachelor of Science in Music from University of Wisconsin-River Falls
Wisconsin native Samantha Dusek received her Bachelor of Science degree in Music Liberal Arts from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls where she studied with Dr. Roger McVey. She has performed in masterclasses with Georgina Zellen-Smith and Margo Garrett, studied at The Brevard Institute, and attended the Edward Auer Piano Workshop at the Jacob School of Music. While earning her degree, Samantha took on a variety of roles, including: keyboardist for the school’s production of All Shook Up, pianist for multiple choirs on campus, music coordinator at the school’s Newman Center, and accompanist for singers and instrumentalists. Currently working as a freelance collaborator in the Twin Cities and western Wisconsin, she played for Just a Dim Image Theatre’s production of Gigi and continues to accompany singers and instrumentalists for juries, recitals, and auditions. Since 2011, Samantha has been teaching piano to students of all ages, focusing on providing a solid foundation for continued study and enjoyment of music. She believes the greatest privilege of working with students, as a collaborator and a teacher, is the opportunity to witness the process as students learn about themselves and their own capabilities through their musical studies. When she’s not near a keyboard instrument, you might find her checking out a new coffee shop, reading in the back corners of a library, or hanging out with her miniature horses.
