Words to describe my teaching style
Andrea has an extensive background in both voice and theater. She has taught drama classes for School District 833 and Phipps Center For The Arts in Hudson, Wisconsin, and is a past president of the Woodbury Fine Arts Council and Woodbury Community Theater. She has also directed youth productions for the Woodbury Communty Theater and K&S. Andrea has sung professionally in the Twin Cities area for more than 30 years and was runner up to Miss Minnesota.
Unlike others who may focus largely on technical skills, her goal is to instill confidence and to find that unique quality that every student has that allows them to shine and to bring real enjoyment to the art of performing.
Lessons include vocal warm ups, time spent working on the voice (breath control, enunciation, phrasing, pitch, etc.) and acting skills, using a song(s) that the student has chosen (with help from Andrea). Lessons also include work on character development, movement, focus and audition preparation.
In her spare time, she likes to go to the theater, movies, hang out with her family and Labrador Retriever (Bailey) and spend time at her cabin up north.
