Group Piano: Young Beginners

Students completing SONG SPARROWS ---> Group Piano YOUNG Beginners Level 1A

Using the Music Tree Time to Begin books, students will build on their Song Sparrows experience. This updated version of Frances Clark's "thoroughly researched method" covers basic note values, the music alphabet, and reading intervals of 2nds-5ths without the distraction of the treble/bass clef staff. Once these concepts are secure, then the staff is introduced. A mixture of "on the keys" and "off the bench" activities will ensure each week is 30-minutes of variety, fun, and learning.

Students completing HOUSE SPARROWS ---> Group Piano YOUNG Beginners Level 1B

Using the Music Tree Part 1 books, we'll build on their House Sparrows experience. Students will combine their knowledge of landmark notes and intervals to become proficient at reading notes across both treble/bass clefs. They will also become secure counting notes/rests and playing sharps/flats/naturals. Like in Level 1A, a mixture of "on the keys" and "off the bench" activities will ensure each week is 30-minutes of variety, fun, and learning.

This group class is for beginners aged 5-6 with no piano experience.  Using the Music Tree Time to Begin books, students will learn basic note values, the music alphabet, and reading intervals of 2nds-5ths without the distraction of the treble/bass clef staff.  Once these concepts are secure, then the staff is introduced. A mixture of "on the keys" and "off the bench" activities will ensure each week is 30-minutes of variety, fun, and learning.
