Nicole Messier (soprano) is a recent graduate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City who is thrilled to be returning to the Twin Cities as a private voice instructor. In the fall of 2010, Nicole appeared as Blanche in the UMKC Opera Theatre’s production of Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites. Past productions include: Magda in The Consul, Principessa in Suor Angelica, Katisha in The Mikado, and Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro. In addition to the Master of Music in Voice Performance, Nicole holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Lawrence University and Conservatory. Her intense curiosity for the art of singing has not only led her out of the studio to explore the intricacies of Italian vocal technique under the tutelage of teachers such as Mary Kay Schmidt, Dr. Rebecca Sherburn, John DeHahn, and Signore Rita Patane, but it has also afforded her the privilege of exploring the Alexander Technique with Brian McCullough.
