I teach students of all ages from grade four through adult, with the goal of enhancing their performance skills and making their playing of music an enjoyable activity. I emphasize note-reading skills and tonal development using traditional texts and solo materials along with music that is of special interest to the student. I highly encourage students to use Smartmusic, a computer-based accompaniment program, for enhancement of their learning and enjoyment. Solo music, ensemble music, jazz, improvisation: each is incorporated in the lessons as the student progresses.
