Teaching since 2006, Emily explores with her students what the music is trying to say and what their individual voice wants to say through the music. She helps them develop a musical ear, expressive playing, and excellent technique. 

A typical lesson with Emily includes working on current pieces, sight-reading and exploring new repertoire, learning how to practice independently, and time for theory and technique.

In her spare time she enjoys walking and biking along the river, cooking, working on music projects, exploring Saint Paul with friends, and spoiling her cat Lily.
