WORDS TO DESCRIBE MY TEACHING STYLE
Patient
Goal-Oriented
Collaborative
Empowering

Setting her apart from other teachers, Jane does not believe in "right and wrong" language in the voice studio. Rather, she empowers students to develop a vocal toolbox that allows them to make informed, artistic choices in their singing. Jane's students are active participants in choosing their repertoire, which may range from classical, musical theatre, choral, jazz, folk, singer-songwriter, to pop, and more!

Jane collaborates with students to maximize learning, minimize injury, and fuel creative, artistic expression. A typical 55-minute lesson begins with 2-3 minutes of conversation, followed by 15-30 minutes of warmup/exercises and 15-30 minutes of work on the students' songs. Exact time division depends on student's skill level, priorities (such as upcoming auditions or performances), and vocal needs that day.

When she is not performing or teaching, Jane enjoys attending musicals, having meaningful conversations in coffee shops, and walking or running around a nice park.
